Mikala Folb

Communications Consultant

Mikala Folb is a senior strategist, communications consultant and former journalist with 20+ years of experience in marketing and communications. She lives and works on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) and Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Peoples, also known as Vancouver.

Mikala brings deep expertise in content, brand, social and communications strategy and planning, focusing on meaningful, multi-layered projects. She has contributed to communications plans and toolkits supporting organizational Reconciliation Action Plans in sectors like healthcare, energy, and mining. She has also worked closely with Indigenous Tourism BC and the Esk’etemc First Nation. 

An award-winning journalist and experienced team lead, Mikala has collaborated with award-winning agencies, built content programs for local, national and global brands, and mentored teams with empathy and candour. She thrives on working with values-driven organizations—and is happiest supporting projects that aim to do good in the world.
