Michelle brings over a decade of experience in capital-intensive infrastructure project environments across both public and private sectors. Her robust academic background includes a Diploma in Architectural Technology, a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, and an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from the University of Regina. Her EMBA research focused on Economic Reconciliation, specifically developing and advancing Indigenous Procurement policies and processes across corporate Canada through engagement with Indigenous representatives, governance structures, rights-based approaches, and policy landscapes.
Michelle began her career in the construction sector, including residential, commercial, and mining environments, before transitioning to provincial and federal governments where she managed capital portfolios and projects. This diverse background, combined with her commitment to economic reconciliation, underpins her collaborative approach to working with various stakeholder groups and Indigenous peoples. She specializes in navigating complex governance, strategic planning, risk management, and commercial aspects of infrastructure projects, including fiscal processes, corporate governance design, policy, organizational reviews, and developing business cases.
Committed to economic reconciliation, Michelle leverages her extensive infrastructure experience to build capacity and facilitate access to capital for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities and organizations. She demonstrates a deep understanding of operating within complex governance structures, strategic planning and goal setting, risk and commercial management, and the specific requirements of fiscal-year processes such as planning, budgeting, and reporting. Her expertise also encompasses project and corporate governance design, policy and strategy development, organizational reviews, and crafting business cases and feasibility studies across various sectors and industries. Michelle is dedicated to fostering inclusive work environments that prioritize psychological safety and uphold human rights, ensuring all voices are heard and respected in project development and execution.
