Elder Advisor
Carol Estralshenen is an Elder from English River First Nation in Saskatchewan, Canada. She is a retired teacher, respected Denesuline language specialist, traditional beader, and cultural mentor.
She is best known for her role as a language consultant with Common Weal Community Arts, where she helped develop the world’s first computer keyboards for typing in Denesuline. Her work has helped make it easier for youth and community members to write and communicate in their language using digital technology, supporting ongoing language preservation.
Her beadwork is also deeply valued and we wear her work with pride and love to share it with others.
