Committed to community: A Reconciliation Action Plan

Architecture49 (A49) is a Canadian architecture firm that had already started its Reconciliation journey when they enlisted the help of the Creative Fire team.

Having established relationships with Indigenous architects and worked with Indigenous communities, A49 was searching for ways to advance the organization’s Reconciliation efforts. This is what led to the development of a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) – a framework that holds organizations accountable to the communities they work with and whose territories they share.

The Creative Fire team developed a RAP framework, working with A49 to standardize an internal and external approach and progress the organization on its Reconciliation journey. This framework upholds the commitments made to the communities they serve and honours the responsibility we all have to support Indigenous communities and Peoples.
