Graphic Designer – Summer Student

Makayla Douglas is back with Creative Fire for her second summer as a Graphic Design Student. She’s heading into her final year at the Alberta University of the Arts, where she’s completing her Bachelor of Design with a focus on Graphic Design and Advertising.

Raised in rural Saskatchewan on Treaty 6 territory, Makayla is passionate about exploring and expressing her Indigenous roots through her creative work. She’s especially drawn to branding and identity, digital storytelling, and illustration, and is looking forward to building on that experience with the team this summer.

Outside of work, you’ll find her painting, spending time with family, or playing team sports. Looking ahead, Makayla hopes to build a career that brings her creativity and community together, working alongside Indigenous communities through design.
