It has been interesting to hear pollsters, political pundits, commentators and political party spokespeople talk about the Indigenous Vote.
In a political era in which voter suppression is key to victory for some parties, the potential threat of an increasing Aboriginal vote brings about some concern.
The strategy is to attack and discredit the vote and discourage the group from not voting in the future. It’s a delicate balancing act, as in doing so you can offend a population and spur the vote to increase. I think we are seeing some of that today.
